Information will be most critical as you work to stay in your home and/or lower your payment. You must stay informed. Do you have a mortgage loan with Citi and need help? Citi has set up a special email address for borrowers who are having trouble meeting their mortgage payments. Try sending an initial email to: homeownerhelp@citi.com. According to Citi, by using this address, customers will be routed as quickly as possible to the appropriate area for assistance. Citi says borrowers can expect a response within 2 business days. Would love to know if this is fact or fiction.
Hopefully, you will find something here that can be of help – if you need it. If you are okay for now, but can foresee a problem pending, then do some research upfront. Don’t wait until the final hour when your ability to think and manage your affairs might be compromised.

Somewhere else i read on your blog about using an attorney for loan modification. Can you recommend an attorney?
@Hazel – With all that’s going on now, I believe getting the “right” third party to handle your loan modification might be a better option for a lot of people. I would suggest you look at the options I included in my blog post here: List of Resources In particular, contact: The New Jersey Foreclosure Mediation Program.
Hope things work out for you.
