Make Your Monthly Phone Bill Disappear

Most of us are spending a fortune on expenses for communication.  Cell phone bills plus Internet access, cable, and our home phone bills add up to hundreds of dollars each month.

Here’s a way to cut back on the home phone costs.

Look into what’s called Magic Jack.     It is a little gizmo that plugs into your USB port on your computer.  Once activated, you can make all the calls you want, local and long distance, at no additional per minute cost.

There is a yearly fee of $19.95.  The upfront cost for the Magic Jack unit is $39.95, but it can be lower.  Go to their site at www.magicjack.com

Many people are using the cell phone now as their only phone.  And it’s usually because the landline bill makes everything too expensive.  I think Magic Jack gives us another option.  A cell phone is great, but some people (myself included) do not want to give everybody our cell phone number as a point of contact.

I purchased Magic Jack over a year ago and can attest that it works.  When traveling, I can hook it up to my laptop and make calls from anywhere.

There is another service just on the market called “OOMA.”  I don’t know much about it other than it is more expensive and you do not have to connect OOMA to your computer.

Magic Jack is only available online.  But OOMA can be purchased at stores like Costco, Best Buy, Amazon. com, etc.  Read about OOMA at www.ooma.com.

Check it out.  See if it can work for you.

Hotel rooms are expensive, stay in a loft in Manhattan, a ski condo in Aspen, or a beach house in Australia. It's free.
