The rate was lower than what we had and we are paying out $1400 less each month. I hated calling mortgage people because I was always treated like scum and they talked down to me. I remember when I first got you on the phone, you were so patient and kind. So you know, we did get our roof fixed, expanded the kitchen, all the old bills were paid and Mark feels he has enough money from the cash out to keep him working during the tough winter. With the price of gas, he thought he would have to give up his trucking business. Our credit cards were at their limit because we were charging our gas. Not only that, we feel comfortable we can handle the big heating bills for our house too.. And Kim started college in August. We needed the extra money in the month. People always come across as used car dealers trying to make a buck on my back or ambulance chasers. After seeing the info on Carol's blog, I called and I could tell things would be different right from the start. And it was. Naturally, I shopped for interests rates and despite the fact that Bank of America offered a marginally better rate I decided to close with First Hallmark as Carol guided me professionally, competently and patiently through this process. She offered outstanding customer service. I felt she can be trusted and that in the end was more important to me than a fraction of a point in interest. Bank America on the other hand has representatives that come across unprofessional, unfriendly and simply act like telemarketers that try to sell a vacuum cleaner. Bank of America does not understand that refinancing from a customer’s perspective is not a commodity deal but a stressful experience where trust plays a paramount role in deciding who to do business with.
